I’ve been quiet lately…

I have slowed down a bit on poster designs lately. I am in the process of acquiring a print shop. It’s a decent sized space with a poster press and all of the fixings. This is a huge step for me. I grew up in a family business, but have never owned my own. If all goes as planned I will be printing posters and selling stuff online within a few months.

I really want to take possession of everything now, but I need to be patient with this and make sure I will have everything I need. This space will also allow me to work on larger scale art projects and other cool stuff I have been wanting to do for years but never had a space to make a mess in.

Stoked.

Prologue to a graphic novel I have been working on. This is going to be published in Psychoblab Zine in a few weeks. The words are from a song I wrote for my band’s record. I am debating about releasing the whole novel in zine form or going a little more professional with it and having it bound with a glossy cover. Decisions for another day…

Gigposter for 1592 for their New York Tour.

I drew the soccer ball and grass for another project. They didn’t want it, so I re-allocated it for this poster. It has been fun drawing the Mustard Man again and bringing him back into the Mustard Plug family. And I know from selling merch for these guys that the kids really enjoy him. I am also working on new merch designs featuring Mustard Man.

One of the projects I had to do was the labels for a 7” split coming out from Exit Music Recording Company. It was a fun little project and a departure from what I normally draw. The songs on this split are pretty dope too. Order it here.

Mike Vallely and his fans dig the poster. Very cool. Getting lots of compliments on this one. Can’t wait to print it up.

Gigposter I did for the band Good for You. This band features two guys I look up to when it comes to their respective talents. Greg Ginn was Black Flag. His guitar playing and song writing was a huge deal to me. The other guy is Mike Vallely. He is a professional skateboarder. I have had the pleasure of running into him multiple times over the years. The pic is Mike flanked by my brother and I in 2004 at the Project Revolution tour in Indiana. I actually get to play this show and it’s in a small venue. Stoked.

Another poster for Deals Gone Bad. This was pretty fun to do. As it turns out, astronauts will always look like cartoons when you try to draw them. Well, this is true for me anyways. Ska kids like cartoonish stuff better anyways. Hahaha!
